May Assessments

One major task that comes along at the end of the year is completing assessments for each child.  We have an entire list of assessments we conduct during the month of May.  Some of the assessments are required for each child in our school district in K-4th grade and some are just Kindergarten specific.  Here is the list of end of year assessments I have completed in my K classroom in the past few weeks:

  • District Writing Assessment
    • Narrative piece
    • Informative piece
  • Quarterly Assessment packet
    • Name writing
    • Letter and sound ID
    • Rhyming
    • Reading short vowel words
    • Counting to 100
  • High Frequency Assessment of 50 words
  • F&P Reading Level Assessment

It's the Final Coundown

We are nearing the end of our school year.  The children have learned so much since August.  It is hard to believe they will be first graders in a few short weeks.  As a count down to the end of the year, we have been removing a letter from our alphabet chart each day.  The children have been bringing items from home to share as we talk about each letter that is removed.  I have even joined in the fun and wore french fry leggings for "Ff" day, all gray for "Gg" day, and heart leggings for "Hh" day.  How do you count down to the end of the year?

My first project for TPT

So I decided to start selling items on Teachers Pay Teachers.  I made my first product but I have not posted it as free or for sale ... yet.  I am testing it on my Kinders tomorrow and will make changes before adding the resource to TPT.  Since this is my first attempt, I know it needs more WOW factor so I will add a border but I need to know where all of you wonderful sellers get your borders.
